![]() Yours Truly Myspace.com/yourstrulynj Tanya: To start off tell us your name and what it is you do in the band Yours Truly? Danny: Hey my names Danny, I play drums in the band Yours Truly. Tanya: When and how did the band form as one? Danny: We have gone through a lot of member changes but ill explain how our current lineup has formed. Mark and Mark joined the band after a few tryouts when we needed a singer and a bass player. Casey joined the band most recent, after our old guitarist left. This lineup is at its pinnacle. Tanya: You currently have an ep " No blood for vanity" that is available on iTunes, Smart Punk and Napster, how are the sales for that going? Danny: The CD still sells although its been released since December. after we released it we didn't really support it as much because the songs on it are actually really old (to us) so we don't really care much for it. its a great record, but its just not YT anymore. the next record will be all killer. Tanya: For those new fans out there who may not be familiar with your music, tell them what they can expect. Danny: We get compared a lot to bands like Every Time I die, Maylene and the sons of disaster, and Norma Jean. So if u dig those bands you will most definitely dig us, and we hope you do. Tanya: What is your favorite song off of the EP, why? Danny: Personally my favorite song on No Blood For Vanity is..."Don't Shake Hands...Shake ASSES!". it depicts us as the band we are now the best on the record. Tanya: Do you guys have any future tour plans? Danny: Tour is the plan. You can expect YT to roll in your town within 6-12 upcoming months. Touring is easier said then done, and were working it all out as we speak. Tanya: How much of an impact do you think myspace has had on your fan base? Danny: Myspace has the ability to make a band HUGE. It has most certainly helped us expand our name outside of New Jersey. I think we have more fans outside of NJ, and again, with touring happening in 6-12 months, it will prove just that. Tanya: Do you have any pre-show rituals? Danny: Every show we rotate between each other a "word of the day". After were all set up on stage and ready to start our set, we all "huddle" by the drums and whichever person has the word of that we count to three and on three we yell that word. its fun, some of us come up with some pretty restarted words. Tanya: How does someone in the crowd stand out to you? Danny: I don't really get to see the crowd much. Our lights blind us while we play and we usually are going crazy throwing our equipment around. Occasionally ill see a mosh pit or people bobbing their heads getting into the music. Tanya: Any final words for the readers out there? Danny: Hit us up on myspace (www. myspace. com/yourstrulynj) check out our songs and talk to us. Were currently writing and demoing in the studio so well have new songs real soon. |
