Undersin Clair
Myspace Tanya: To start off why don't you all tell us your names and what it is you contribute to the band? Undersin Clair: well!!! my name is Justin Arguellez and I play drums, to my left is Jacob bacon he plays guitar, and my right is Jesse marks he plays the guitar, laying down in front of me it timothy stern-sneider and he plays the bass, and at work but coming over soon is Josef Wright and he sings the vocals Tanya: How did the band form? Undersin Clair: It’s actually kind of funny, hah hah, Jake has been trying to start good bands for years and it never really worked out to his liking, he finally got into a band with the other guitarist that was called aperture. after aperture broke up they tried to form some early undersin Clair, the line up was really funny, Timmy played guitar and sang, Joe sang, Jake played the guitar as usual, and a boy named E.J. played the bass and some kid I don't know played the drums. After all this broke down they got Jesse to play guitar, and it’s funny how they found me (Justin) on "my space" hahaha and we started playing. Jesse thought I would be real bad but I guess things all worked out fine! Tanya: So what’s the story behind the bands name? Undersin Clair: Hmmm well I’m gonna have Jake answer that one because his odd mind thought it up, so here he is: Ok well Joe and I were sitting in apple bees trying to think of a name and I looked up from our booth and there was an old Sinclair oil sign above us. I thought the name Sinclair would be cool so we kinda just had that for a day then later we were thinking about just adding under to it cause we were sitting under it lol. Then we just spelt it Undersin Clair. Tanya: You guys are from Arizona , how would you say the music scene out there is? Undersin Clair: The Arizona music scene is incredible, I am willing to lay it up against any other music scene in the world in a so called national battle of the bands and see where that goes, we have some amazing bands that come from this state. Everyone is so supportive of each other, when bands make it out of this state instead of aggravation or jealousy; we celebrate how amazing it is that they made it! I wouldn't change anything about our scene for anything! Nor would I be anywhere near as happy if I had to move away from here. Tanya: How do you usually go about the song writing process? Undersin Clair: Sheesh well now that you ask, we usually sit in my garage, that is decked out to be a practice studio, usually there’s a lot of sweat, yelling, crying, hugging, knitting, movie watching, and finally after all this is done we all sit down on the floor and Jesse plays a riff or something, than Jake adds on to it, and than so on and so forth, finally Joe will get home from work and add in his two cents, and BINGO! A new song! I (Justin) rarely have democratic say in much with the writing process! Oh yeah and Timmy just does a lot of texting like Jake does, and than plays with us! He is usually the first one done with recording as well Tanya: Ideally if you could choose a record label to get signed too which would it be? Undersin Clair: Man, that is a really tough choice! There are a lot of record labels with bands I highly respect and enjoy at all times. As for choosing a record label, to tell you the truth none of us are really too sure which one is right for us. Just as long as the label is fun, responsible and knows how to take care of its bands I think we should be able to hang with them. Heck we may even be able to one day brush our teeth together and what not? Tanya: Do you have any pre-show rituals? Undersin Clair: Hahah well? well myself, well as for pre-pre-show I like to listen to really ambient goofy music like dredg, and circa survive, stuff like that. As for Jake he does a lot of text messaging, listens to some form of my chemical romance, even if its the ring tones on his phone of famous last words, and I’m not okay(I promise), but that’s only if he has no cd player, radio, ipod, record player, cassette player, or any form of player. As for on stage we like to clear our thoughts, and right before we play we huddle and tell each other that we love one another. We say I love you a lot to each other, we think its really important Tanya: How does someone in the crowd stand out to you; how do you remember your fans? Undersin Clair: Well as far as crowd fans go, anybody who sings our songs back to us, dances, yells, or pretty much just looks like they are having a really great time, will stand out to us. We give so many hugs it’s incredible! We all made an oath to never turn down a hug offer from any fan ever, no matter which they are! Tanya: What do you think about the bands who base their music career on looks rather than talent? Undersin Clair: Well I think we all agree that it is entirely up to them, if that’s their forte, than that’s their forte, if they can make it just on their super cuteness than kudos, much kudos. but the funny thing is that I think myself and Jake really dig those bands that dress up, I don't want to sound like a stickler for looks but I think people who haven’t heard of some bands before see them dressed up and immediately want to see what’s going on. It’s a sad world we live in where people who are all godly talented at their instrument can’t make it because people think they are less attractive than another musician... Tanya: Do you have any big touring plans for 2007? Undersin Clair: Yeah, we do actually, we have a small tour planned for the summer of 07' we plan to visit such places as Chicago, IL, Seattle, WA a lot of California stops, Las Vegas, and all over our homeland of AZ, there more in there, I’m just not sure of the itinerary (I haven’t memorized it like Jacob has), he just told me to shut up. But yes we do plan to get out and do some exploration of far away musical lands! Tanya: What are the bands or artists that have inspired you to make the music you do? Undersin Clair: Man as for me I really enjoy the fine musical styling’s of the Rx bandits, Dredg, Circa Survive, ummm.....a lot of indie goofy music that most humans find really unconventional, I recently got into Daphne Loves Derby after we played with them. Jake digs on My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday a lot stuff along those lines, Brand New and more of that, Josef is the same way as Jacob, and Timmy is a lot like myself I think, now that I think about it the only one who stands out is brother Jesse, he really dig on classic rock, the blues, I’m pretty sure his favorite musical group of all time is Led Zepplin, he also likes Bad company, Cream, and like I said a whole sleu of classic rock! Tanya: Sun or Rain? Undersin Clair: Rain, its more influential to the music industry, I’m sure a lot of people are influenced by the sun, like here comes the sun by the beatles, but some of the best songs are sad and I’m sure the rain had a little part in that Tanya: Colored or black and white photos? Undersin Clair: Hmm, it depends what the photo is of, I think we would have to all agree if it’s of ourselves we would go with colored! Tanya: Love or Lust? Undersin Clair: I wish I had love, but most of the time its lust, as for the rest of them they said love, since they all have awesome girlfriends Tanya: Late nights or early mornings? Undersin Clair: Well I think for the rest of the band they would say late nights, because of things we won't mention aheh aheh, but as for me I am like the morning, I like to get up really early go in the back yard with some tea or juice or whatever I have than, have a cigarette, and than go about my business for the day Tanya: Famous or Almost famous? Undersin Clair: well I don’t know, whatever gets people to understand our message, you know, I don’t mind what happens, although I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that being famous would be real real rad! Tanya: Blondes or Brunettes? Undersin Clair: Hmmm for me it doesn’t matter, I think it is a stereotype that most people think blondes are less than up to par with the intelligence thingy, I think Timmy knows this stuff best so I am going to let him answer this one: hey this is Timmy, I personally go for blondes mostly but its nice to change it up with a brunette every once and awhile Tanya: Apples or Oranges ? Undersin Clair: hah we’ll oranges are amazingly delicious I’m not going to lie, I could eat a thousand but the citric acid starts hurting my stomach after awhile Tanya: Party like a Rock Star or Party like its 1999? Undersin Clair: rock star cause that’s the way we roll, Justin says 1999 because well he’s Justin ha-ha Tanya: Holding hands or Kissing? Undersin Clair: me, kissing my girlfriend because I just love her kisses, Justin says a combination of both Undersin Clair: cuddlings nice too Tanya: Pepsi or Coke? Undersin Clair: I really like coke better than Pepsi, Joe just drinks beer, Jake drinks a lot of bacon grease, and Justin doesn’t like brown sodas because it stains your teeth Tanya: Haunted houses or Fun houses? Undersin Clair: Justin and Jesse say haunted houses, because it gives you an excuse to fulfill our answers to the kissing or holding hands question lol I say haunted and Jake says "what is a fun house??" Tanya: Plane or car? Undersin Clair: I like planes, so does Justin because "John Travolta flies one" Tanya: Tackle or Touch? Undersin Clair: touchhhhh tackling’s for hard asses, we are a loving kind of band haha Tanya: Chocolate or Vanilla? Undersin Clair: Chocolate Tanya: Make-up or no make-up? Undersin Clair: Me and Jake wear makeup at shows lol I think Jake also wears make up occasionally, Justin and Jesse and Joe don’t wear makeup Tanya: Lemonade or Ice tea? Undersin Clair: I like ice tea, everyone agrees Tanya: Heartbreaker or Broken Heart? Undersin Clair: I’m a heartbreaker as of recent lol; Justin says broken heart cause he tries’s not to hurt people anymore Tanya: Love letters or Love songs? Undersin Clair: love songs, we play music lol Tanya: Any last words before we end this?
