Secret Secret Dino Club

MYSPACE

Brittany: So Jayce, tell us about yourself non-musically.
Jayce: Well I'm 19 and I live around Saratoga Springs, NY. I'm kinda skinny and about 5'8". I don't drink, or smoke, or eat meat, or ever have any fun at all.

Brittany: Now tell us all about Secret Secret Dino Club and how it all started.
Jayce: When I first started, I wrote songs and recorded them under my bed on my computer. I would send them to people and asked them if they liked them. They would usually lie and I kept making more, and eventually they got better. But not much.

Brittany: Where did the name come from?
Jayce: I wanted to make a hip hop band in high school called the dinosaur club, and we were all going to dress up as various prehistoric creatures and sing songs about being those creatures. And eventually it got to this I guess? But that idea was probably better.

Brittany: How would you describe your music?
Jayce: Your favorite band, but much worse.

Brittany: If you could put together a dream tour who would be on it?
Jayce: It would be me playing from on top of a giraffe. That's pretty dreamy.

Brittany: Do you have any dream venues?
Jayce: Everyone always says like madison square garden. I like playing in basements and stuff. I'm more about personal connection with people, because isn't that what music really is? Making connections with people.

Brittany: What's your favorite song that you have ever written?
Jayce: Probably dot com. I've been told it is the hottest jam of this summer. I can neither confirm nor deny that.

Brittany: Pick one song and tell us what it's about.
Jayce: I have this song called eighteen, and I wrote it when I turned 19, and it basically lays out the eighteenth year of my life, which was a very difficult year for me. It was kind of like just letting go of everything and moving on, if that makes any sense.

Brittany: If you had the oppurtunity, would you change anything about the music industry?
Jayce: Not so much the music industry, but shows and venues. Shows have kind have turned into fashion shows, where the bands are just background music for people who dress up like clowns. Remember that time you payed 10 dollars ot get into this show? oh, and all shows should be all ages, I feel lame when people who actually want to be there can't get in.

Brittany: Your song dot com sticks in my head very easily, do you have any songs stuck in your head right now?
Jayce: If you have ever seen the movie "This Is Spinal Tap", "Big Bottom"

Brittany: What is the last cd you bought?
Jayce: The Chariot "Fiancee"

Brittany: What's the best advice you have been given about the music business?
Jayce: Try to make as many friends as you can, and save all your phone numbers and myspace adresses. You'll definately need them.

Brittany: What are some of your goals for the near future?
Jayce: I'm going to release an album in the fall tentatively named " A. Blinkin' " (that will probably changeee) and I'm really excited about it. This fall and winter I plan on heading out on mini tours through the east coast with some sweet bands.

Brittany: Any last words?
Jayce: Even if you don't liek me or my music you may like this joke:

Brittany: Why don't you want to take a shower with a Pokemon?
Jayce: Because it might Pikachu
I'm lameee. AIM me: JAYCEEEEEE
