Rendezvous With The Kidnappers

MYSPACE

Brittany: How did you come up with the band name?
RWTK: The name came from the title of a short story, from a collection of short stories all written in 55 words or less. The title of the book is 'The World's Shortest Stories About Love and Death'. The particular story that is titled 'Rendezvous With The Kidnappers' was written by a man, by the name of Charles E. Beachley III.

Brittany: When did the band get formed
RWTK: This band was formed only a few months ago. I want to say October of '06.

Brittany: Name 5 of your musical influences.
RWTK: Combined we have thousands haha But to speak for all of us at this moment I would have to say The Mars Volta, At The Drive-in, Brand New, Portugal The Man and The Dear Hunter, but like i said theres many many many more :)

Brittany: If you were able to change anything about the music industry what would you change?
RWTK: Well, being extremely fresh to the "music industry", it's hard to give an exact answer to that seeing as we really aren't involved in any sort of 'industry' at the moment but from an outside perspective I think collectively we'd just like to see more honest music and honest musicians. We're seeing a lot more bands and musicians now touring and writing records strictly for the love of making music, and we believe that love for the art absolutely comes across to a listener in the music. We think it's amazing how all these Indie labels and Artists are sort of taking the 'road less traveled by' so to speak. It's refreshing to see bands making art again instead of 2-minutes pop orgasms.

Brittany: What are some of your favorite venues to play?
RWTK: We've all played tons of venues but since this band is extremely new we havn't yet played any venues together. But on long island club ritual is a great venue, the oasis, the knitting factory and if you get into NYC Irving Plaza is a great place to see a show as well as roseland ballroom. Some of us played a show a little while ago at starland ballroom in NJ , that was a lot of fun.

Brittany: If you could play with any three bands on a tour who would you choose?
RWTK: hmm.... well if they were all to be living bands we'd say: The Dear Hunter , The Mars Volta and Circa Survive. Alive or Dead- Pink Floyd, The Mars Volta and Elvis. Not so much because Elvis is an influence of ours, more so because we'd love to learn some moves from him- It's all about your moves.

Brittany: Do you prefer outdoor venues or indoor ones?
RWTK:Collectively we've mostly played indoor venues but I would imagine outdoor venues to be a fun time-

Brittany: What are some memorable fan experiences?
RWTK: Everytime someone says they dig our sounds. Or hate our sounds.

Brittany: Do you have any dream venues?
RWTK: I guess being from NY it would be amazing to play somewhere like Nassau Colliseum but we don't really put to much emphasis on where we play , we just enjoy playing, anywhere.

Brittany: What are some things you guys have to have with you at all times when on tour?
RWTK: Well as Rendezvous we havn't been able to tour since we just recorded our demo/EP but check back with us in a few months and we'll have an answer.
