 Norma Jean MYSPACE.com/normajean Brittany: Tell us about yourself and what it is you do in the band. Cory: I am Cory Brandan, I’ve been singing for Norma Jean for almost 5 years now. Brittany: Describe the band in four words. Cory: How about three? Gooder than hell!! Brttany: Who are some of your bigger musical influences? Cory: There are so many, it would be dumb to even try to answer this. The chipmunks sing the Beatles record was pretty cool though. Brittany: How has Warped Tour been so far? Cory: It's been great. We’ve had fun. Brittany: Are there any dates that stand out to you so far? Cory: Nope. Not really. Everyday seems to be pretty sweet. Brittany: What are some of your favorite songs to play live? Cory: Right now it would be Robots 3 Humans 0 of the new record The Anti Mother. In stores now. Yep. Brittany: If you could change anything about the music industry what would you change? Cory: There is a lot that needs to be done. There are too many old fat dudes in charge of important things. They’re all fired immediately. They forgot what music was about a long time ago. Brittany: What is the best advice you can give someone trying to become a successful band? Cory: Don’t write crappy songs, record a GOOD sounding record not a crappy demo, and play lots and lots of shows no matter how much your van breaks down. Brittany: Do you have any memorable fan experiences? Cory: One time there was a really sweet girl that was rather young and she seemed normal until she tried to hook up with me and that was super creepy cause I am pretty sure she was 14. Come kids!!!! That’s my daughter's age. Brittany: Do you have any hidden talents or something about yourself people may not expect? Cory: I am actually a major songwriter in Norma Jean and play guitar on every record… also I can do the movie guy voice SO good. I could seriously do that for a living if NJ breaks up. Brittany: What can we expect from you guys once Warped is over? Cory: Revelation generation fest in Frenchtown, PA on Aug 30th then a headliner in Oct. with a bunch of solidstate bands. Brittany: Any last words for everyone? Cory: Go buy our record, don’t download it for free. We hate that and so does every other band but they are afraid to piss you off… I personally don’t give a crap. It takes away from us doing this and me supporting my family so naturally I am going to be against it. Don’t be a thief. It’s the same as taking a cd from a store. If you can get away with that… then go for it. Also, we love you a lot so come hang out with us. |
