Destroy The Witness![]() MYSPACE | Battle Of The Bands Amber: For those who do not know much about the band, tell them all the members and how you got started? DTW: Derek-guitar, Eric-Guitar, Keith-Bass, Sean-Vocals, Bill-Drums. We've been friends for a while and have all been in previous bands together, one day we decided to join forces and start the most epic metal band the world has seen. Brittany: How would you say your music stands out among other bands out there right now? DTW: Derek: We write music that appeals to more fans then just one specific genre, our music and stage performance has a lot of energy. When we play live we like to get the crowd involved as much as possible and make it an experience not just a group of kids playing instruments. Tanya: How does someone in the crowd stand out to you? DTW: Perry: Someone we don’t know who can sing every word to our songs and gives us back as much energy as we give them. Amber: You recently put out your CD, Tell us about it. What songs are on there? How long did it take to record? DTW: The recording process was definitely longer than we expected. We spent over a month and a half recording and another few weeks promoting and having it mastered. We have 7 songs of fury on the CD, we couldn’t be more proud of how it came out. Brittany: Do you have a name for the CD yet? DTW: The name of the CD is called "Stand up and Die' Brittany: How did you come up with the name? DTW: It’s basically the most intense line our singer ever came up with for a song, it’s the part of our set everyone knows and screams really really really loudly!! Tanya: What is your favorite song off of the CD? DTW: Keith: Metal Lungs, it’s beautiful! , Eric: Bathed and Blessed in Concrete, because it’s the most epic song on our CD. Bill: Ghosts are Heroes- I don’t know it’s just my favorite, Sean: Bathed and Blessed in Concrete, because it came out 1000 times better then we ever thought on the CD, Derek: Bathed and Blessed in Concrete- It makes me cry. Amber: Have you had any crazy fan experiences? DTW: At our CD release show we told everyone to come up on stage and sing the words and basically we filled the stage with kids. Sean didn’t even sing for half the song because everyone else kind of took over, it was the best night of our lives to have that many people into our music in such a short amount of time is pretty intense. Tanya: When writing the song, which comes first, the music or the lyrics? DTW: Bill: The music usually comes first, and then Sean sits down and gets the feeling for the song and writes what comes into his head. Brittany: If you could put together a tour with 4 other bands who would you choose? DTW: If we could chose four bands to go on tour with we'd chose: Local bands-Dragged under, Ambush Operator, She Nasty, and The Proposal. Nationally- Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean, Job for a Cowboy, August Burns Red. Amber: What would you say to people who base their music career on looks? DTW: Eric: If that’s what they want to do to get their music out then that’s their thing. For us the music is the most important part of a band. If you're not in it for the music then why be in a band? Brittany: What’s your opinion on myspace? DTW: Sean: I think Tom needs to get his shit together and fix that shit... it’s a great way to get your music is out there and reach fans that normally couldnt, we have fans in California, Europe, and Australia. Tanya: Do you have any pre-show rituals? DTW: Keith: Drinking beers. Amber: Now that you have a CD out, what’s next? DTW: A Summer tour with Mordisk, June 1-18th. Hopefully we get to play warped tour. A new CD that we're already working on, promoting our asses off, and of course drinking beers. Brittany: Are there any venues you would kill to play? DTW: Any venue is a good venue! We don’t care how big or small, we just love to play Tanya: what are 3 touring must haves for you? DTW: Beers, cigarettes, and sleep. DTW: Can we have 4? We want gas too that’d be nice, but the other 3 first. Amber: What’s your Take on the bands out there who say things like “This meet and greet is lame, when is it over” and complain about spending time with the fans, how much do your fans mean to you? DTW: I don’t know why bands would say that, if it wasn’t for fans then they wouldn’t be a band. Fans mean everything to us. Brittany: What’s the best advice you can give to someone about the music business? DTW: From our experience work hard, practice, save money, stay friends, and drink beers. Tanya: Where do you see the band in 5 to 10 years? DTW: Bill: Signed to a major record label and waking up in a different state to put on a show everyday. Amber: Now give everyone a reason to go listen to your music! DTW: Because were epic and brutal as fuck and you'll just hear about us from one of your friends later anyways.
