Rachel: The new record is called The Story, what made you decide to choose that for the title?
Brandi: This record, in many ways, is the story of our band and our lives so the title just seemed to fit. Obviously it's also the title of one of the songs but that wasn't really where it came from.

Rachel: What were some of your influences for this record?
Brandi: My influences in general are Elton John, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and so many others. I great up listening to classic Country music so all of those influences are part of the way I write songs as well.

Rachel: You've toured with some awsome artists including the fray and tori amos, how was that experience?
Brandi: Every tour is different but there aren't many I can look back on and not be happy about. Whether it's playing with someone you grew up listening to, like the Indigo Girls, or someone new like The Fray you are given a chance to play music in front of a bunch of music lovers and that's about all you can ask for.

Rachel: What are your thoughts on how music has become such a huge part of shows like greys anatomy, and how they have been launching pads for up and coming artists?
Brandi: I love how music is blended into movie and TV scenes. I don't look at it as much of a marketing opportunity as a combination of music and a visual and how they work together and how well they fit together. As a musician I obviously am a fan of music being heard and TV shows are a great way for that to happen.

Rachel: Finally, whats next for you?
Brandi: More touring, more touring and more touring!
