An Apparition
Myspace

Brittany: When and how did the band form?
Joseph: Joey (Keyboards/Vocals), Mat (Drums), Jake (Bass/Vocals) and I (Guitar/Vocals), all grew up in Eastern Washington and played in a band together. We all slowly migrated to Seattle and have been playing together off and on for a few years with a rotating cast of other members. In July we found the missing link, Aaron (Guitar/Vocals), and thus began An Apparition.

Brittany: Who came up with the name for the band?
Joseph: We were trying to come up with a band name we were all happy with and decided to try playing an Ouija board. Kidding.

Brittany: Are there any songs in particular that the fans tend to enjoy the most?
Joseph: Well, the way we structure our sets, there is never a moment of silence. We have interludes, noise, loops etc that bridge the songs together. More often than not people don't necessarily know where one song ends and another begins. Our set is four songs, and is a half hour long...but a good amount of people think we only played one song.

Brittany: Do you have any shows that stand out to you from the past?
Joseph: Our first show was with our best buds, Thriller (http://myspace.com/thrillerparty). It was a great time. They're the nicest, most fun humans alive.

Brittany: What are some of your favorite venues to play?
Joseph:We love playing anywhere for anyone. Rays Golden Lion in Richland, WA is always a blast.

Brittany: Do you have any venues or cities you have never played but have always wanted to?
Joseph: We want to play a Super Bowl or Super Sweet 16.

Brittany: If you had the chance to change anything about the music business what would you choose?
Joseph: Something that not a lot of people get now days, but we are hoping for is longevity. We want to make more than just one good record...but continue to create great material and grow as musicians and artists.

Brittany: How would you describe your band to people who have never heard you before?
Joseph: Our favorite comparisons we have been given were Brand New meets Isis, or Pink Floyd-core. If you have a better way of describing us, let us know...because it's the most asked, but hardest to answer question.

Brittany: Who would you choose to play on your "dream tour"?
Joseph: We would all love to tour with Thrice. Joey would love to play with Daft Punk or Botch, Jake-Lil Wayne or Muse, Mat-Converge or Smashing Pumpkins, Aaron-The Chariot or Say Anything, and I would have to say Sigur Ros or Refused....but we love so many bands and would be honored to tour with too many to list....not that I didn't just list a ton of bands. Haha.

10. Do you guys have anything planned for the near future like tours or new songs?
Joseph: A few of us are finishing up school, so we're going to keep writing and demoing songs this winter, then hit the road this spring for a few weeks, and tour as much of the summer as possible.
