Ambush, Operator! MYSPACE Sammie: Tell us who you are and give a little description about each of you. Ambush, Operator!: I'm John, I play guitar and whine melodic parts like a bitch. Not to mention my fiery passion for a good hike. The other guys are Tyler, he also plays guitar and lets his teeth hang out most of the time unless you stick a cigarette between his lips, Barry plays bass and enjoys PWNing N00bs constantly, Derrick beats the skins and lacks a sense of smell which is a bad thing for all of us, and Brandon roars our lyrics into amplification systems, and drinks... a lot. He's an Indian so it's cool. Sammie: How'd you all come together to form Ambush, Operator!? Ambush, Operator!: To make a long story short we formed from 2 well known MA bands, Lover Left You Bleeding & Closer Than Kin. Sammie: What's your favorite song to preform? Ambush, Operator!: I think I speak on behalf of the other dudes when saying "Holy Smokes." We're all fond of our own certain parts of the songs, but that one gets us all pretty pumped. Sammie: How far are you planning on touring? Ambush, Operator!: Right now we are finishing up booking our Canada tour for this July. That will be as far as we are touring this summer, and we're all extremely thrilled about it. In the future we would like to hit up each and every bit of this globe. Barry toured Europe with CTK and he's told us some intense stories. So Europe is a definite in the future. Sammie: Whats' the hardest thing about touring? Ambush, Operator!: Missing home, family and friends. Sammie: Are you each single or taken? Ambush, Operator!: 3 Taken, 2 Single. Sammie: What gave you the idea for the band name? Ambush, Operator!: To be honest, we just wanted something different. We went for about a month tossing ideas around on a white board in our practice space and nothing really fit like A,O! so we decided it was fitting enough to call our own. Sammie: You seem to really appreciate your fans, which is GREAT. Is it sometimes hard to talk to all of them? Ambush, Operator!: It's hard to keep up with all of them because there are so friggin many of them, but we make a point to comment and message everyone back if they show us love. Sammie: What would be some bands you'd like to play with? Ambush, Operator!: Every band brings their own personality to the stage. To be able to check out as many of those styles as possible (big or small) is an honor. Sammie: Who has been your favorite band you played with? Ambush, Operator!: Couldn't tell you... Playing with friends is always great, especially if there is partying after! Sammie: Who writes the songs? Ambush, Operator!: Everyone has their own input in the process. This music wouldn't be anything like it is if everyone didn't throw their bit in. Sammie: What was the funniest thing to happen on stage? Ambush, Operator!: No idea Sammie: Have certain people stuck out as great fans? What have they done? Ambush, Operator!: Anyone who goes out of their way to tell a few more people, or even try to get a show booked is A,Omazing in my book. Sammie: Have there been any rough times since coming together? Ambush, Operator!: Brandon shaved his beard... It was horrible, I don't want to talk about it. Sammie: What advice do you have for people trying to learn an instrument or create a band? Ambush, Operator!: If you're going to start a serious band make sure you're grown up. Seriously, their is no room for any more immaturity in music. Sammie: What are all of your favorite bands? Ambush, Operator!: There are too many to list. To name a few groups worth checkin out: Mordisk, Verbanna Darvel, Atomic Ballroom Calamity, Destroy The Witness, and Follow The Flies. Sammie: Finally, tell everyone why they should give a listen to you guys. (Besides my recommendation!) Ambush, Operator!: We're trying to bring listeners in a different direction. As musicians we've done the stuff you hear all the time for many years, but now with Ambush we want to tickle another part of fans ear drums. As many people as possible need to discover the music that we are deeply in love with. It's been a long time since anyone has REALLY rock and rolled, and i guess that what we're attempting to do. |
