Aletta
Myspace

Tanya: Why don't you introduce yourself and what band you are from?
Alex: Alex Boudinet, Vocalist for Aletta

Tanya: Can you give us some background information (how the band came together, where you got the band name etc...)
Alex: Me and Chris Biddy (drums) have been in countless bands in the past throughout high school. None of them were really taken seriously until we came across Carl Oberle (guitar), and than we formed Aletta. We quickly picked up Kamron Lavasani (Guitar) and Nate Ivey (Bass). All of which have been in several bands in the past. The name wasn't that important to us. These days there are so many bands almost anything you think of is already in use. We decided to go Latin and found Aletta, meaning "winged one" and found that it fit well with our music.

Tanya: your my space says you have been members since July of ‘06... How much of an impact do you think my space has had on your fan base?
Alex: My space has revolutionized the way to get heard as an artist. It's been great to get our music out to not only just our region, but to the world.

Tanya: Your debut CD "In search of escape" comes out April 20th why don’t you tell us what we can expect from it?
Alex: "In Search of Escape" is a 6 song EP" that mixes melodic instrumentals and vocals, with a little taste of hardcore. The songs fluxuate from soft to hard with each song having its own distinct feel. It's like a middle-ground between hardcore and alternative.

Tanya: What is your favorite song off of the CD? Is there a story Behind it?
Alex: I really don't have a favorite, however the actual song "In Search of Escape" is the most meaningful to me. It was the last day of recording the EP with Jason McEntire, and we had decided to make a creepy intro or outro to seal the deal. What started as creepy quickly turned into a catchy piano line that set the whole thing off. The song has a lot of meaning to me as someone who is still looking for an exit from the normal daily grind of life, and looking to do something meaningful, also I came up with the EP title before we even came across our bassist, Nate Ivey. At the time he was living in Decatur , Alabama and wanted out of the town. Oddly enough he found us through a bulletin sent out on myspace and knew he had a shot at playing with us. His decision was made and he found his way out of Alabama and into Aletta.

Tanya: How does someone in the crowd stand out to you?
Alex: We love seeing our crowd enjoying themselves whether it be singing our lyrics or dancing their ass's off. Eyes can tell a lot.

Tanya: What are 3 of your touring must haves?
Alex: Oregon Trail, Capri Suns, and BTBAM

Tanya: Have you ever goggled yourself?
Alex: I'm going to try that right now

Tanya: Who have been your biggest musical influences?
Alex: I really look up to Will Pugh (vocalist for Cartel). Daryl Palumbo the singer of glassjaw has been a big role model of mine. In fact, Glassjaw has been a pretty big influence over all.

Tanya: What was the first concert you ever attended?
Alex: The first big concert I attended was during freshman year of high school. The lineup being Greenday, Blink182, and Jimmy Eat World. It was fantastic.

Tanya: Do you have any major touring plans for 2007?
Alex: We're actually doing a western tour starting in June. We're pumped to be heading out and playing in California for a week since few of us have been through "The Golden State "

Tanya: You guys are not signed to a record label right?
Alex: Correct. We’ve only been a band for 10 months. We have time, we've already toured and opened for nationals, and are releasing an EP

Tanya: Ideally, what record label would you want to be signed to?
Alex: Fearless or Epitaph.

Tanya: What is your all time favorite song?
Alex: Cartel - A

Tanya: After everything is all said and done what do you want to be remembered for?
Alex: five guys that made a dream come true.

Tanya: Sun or Rain?
Alex: Sun
