Teddy Geiger is an artist that we really haven't heard much from lately, so when I heard he was doing a new acoustic tour I was very interested. Brittany and I got to the venue at around seven because doors opened at 730. When we first got there we weren't sure where we were going because this venue turned out being a meeting room at a local college here in Nashua, NH. We finally found it though and as we were walking up to the door we happened to run into Teddy himself who was also arriving at the same time. He was extremely nice and very friendly, come to find out he was also quite confused about the venue. So we all entered the building, Brittany and I made our way upstairs, where there was a meet and greet about to take place. These were being done on the entire tour for people who bought four or more tickets. Fans got a signed photo, a chance to talk to teddy briefly and get a photo taken with him. We were upstairs for a while, and then around 730 we made our way down to the meeting room where the show was going to take place. As we made our way into the room we were very surprised, but pleased at the same time. The room was extremely small which is what I feel is the best atmosphere for a show, especially an acoustic one. We walked up to the the front of the room by the stage that was only about a foot or two off the ground, and luckily got two seats front row. About a half an hour later the show started. First up there was a local band called Tables up. They played about a half hour forty five minute set which included original songs and a few covers of some of the bands favorite songs, they were actually very good. Next up was Scott Harris Project, but because it was an acoustic tour it was just Scott Harris himself. He also played for about a forty five minutes. His set was filled with catchy originals and a few cover songs that he put his own unique twist on. The crowd definitely enjoyed his performance. After a break of about ten minutes it was Teddy's turn to come on. The stage was set up with two stools and mics set up next to each other, with two little lamps, one on each side of the stools. When the lights went down the crowd of about 100 people started screaming for Teddy. When the lights came back up Teddy and his guitarist Evan came out on stage and sat on their stools and greeted the crowd. Teddy played about a forty five minute to an hour set which included many of his hits including "These Walls" and "Look Where We Are Now" from his CD Underage Thinking, some awesome new songs that we can expect to see on his upcoming record, and indulged in some funny conversations with the audience. It was nearing the end of his set and Teddy had two songs left, as he started to play "For You I Will (Confidence)" the crowd started screaming. Through the whole song all you could hear were fans singing the song word for word, that song seemed to be the one that everyone was waiting for. After that song was over Teddy explained that this was usually the time they walk off of the stage and then come back on for the encore, but that at this venue it was kind of hard to do that considering there was no "backstage" or any place to walk off to. So he tells the crowd that hes going to do another song, but that he has only played it a couple of times so he was unsure of the lyrics. After he tells us this he pulls out his blackberry which he informs us has the lyrics on it, then starts to play the song. As soon as the first couple of notes was played the crowd knew exactly what song it was. This song was one of the most popular songs at the moment, "Beautiful Girl" by Sean Kingston. Teddy did an amazing job on the song, and the crowd definitely enjoyed it as well. After this song the crowd cheered for about five minutes, then slowly started to leave. After the show we got to talk to Teddy for a little while, he is sincerely one of the nicest people. If you ever get the chance to go to one of his shows you definitely should, you have an awesome time, plus you get your moneys worth and way more!
