The Chickenbucket Tour (acoustic show)![]() March 12, 2007 in Arlington, VA @ the Iota Club and Café This tour consisted of four amazingly talented artists; Josh Hoge, Steven Miller, Nathan Angelo and Andy Davis. The tour doesn’t really point out the fact that Steven Miller is a part of it, but since he accompanies Josh and is an incredible musician I felt that he should be mentioned! First of all, for anyone who hasn’t had a chance to check out these musicians, you should definitely take the time to listen to their music!!! I became a fan of Josh Hoge last year a few months before I saw him open up for Ryan Cabrera! The very first time I heard his music I was amazed! I mean wow this guy has some amazing talent! Alright, now that I threw that out there on to the review… The concert was basically broken up into four sections. Nathan Angelo, Andy Davis, Josh Hoge and Steven Miller, and then the four of them collaborated and performed a few cover songs! So, the concert began with Nathan Angelo playing his keyboard. I hadn’t heard of Nathan until I found out about this show. Nathan played about a 30 minute set which included one of my favorite songs of his “Love Sucks”. This song is definitely one of the more upbeat songs and it’s also fun to sing along to! Next came Andy Davis. I feel that his music was a little more mellow. Andy was able to mix it up a bit and show some of his skills as he played on the keyboard and then his guitar. One of the songs that I loved seeing/hearing Andy play was one that he sang as he played on the keyboard which was called “Black Keys”. Josh Hoge began his set with “Take it or Leave it” which he calls his only “country-ish” Nashville song. Even though it’s not country it tends to have that sort of vibe to it in some parts of the song. Josh may be better known for his song “360” which was being played on radio stations everywhere last summer. And just to set the record straight he likes to make sure that everyone knows that his song was recorded BEFORE Justin Timberlake’s song “What Goes Around Comes Around” ? (We believe you Josh and we’ll help you get that paycheck) haha One song that I was looking forward to hearing him sing again was “Work that Body”. It is one of mine and Jormery’s favorite songs of his just because it’s fun and energetic! Before the show I asked Josh if he could sing one of my favorite cover songs “Pretty Girl” by David Ryan Harris. He has sung this song at previous shows but I had yet to hear it live. After a few songs Josh told the crowd that he was asked to sing this song. And said “Here’s a request from my friend” and then begin playing “Pretty Girl”. Love that song! Josh was also able to surprise a few fans, including me, by performing a couple songs on his upcoming album. I’m looking forward to getting the album so I can hear them again. The guys all came up on stage together to perform a few cover songs that may or may not take you back to your “highschool prom”. They sang a few covers from Boys II Men, Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, as well as a few others. They def know how to get the crowd going and have fun! I recommend that you check out their music and for tour dates near you!
