Band: Anthony Green Place: Harper's Ferry Date: September 11, 2008 By: Jamie An exciting Thursday night in Allston, MA occurred on September 11, 2008. Anthony Green, the singer of Circa Survive took the stage at Harper's Ferry, one of Boston's most popular music venues. The crowd was warmed up by the likes of Person L, which contains Kenny, a member of the Starting Line, and Good Old War. Although I arrived late, I was able to catch the end of Good Old War's set, a band who's music definitely worked to amp up the crowd. The bar, full of mostly college students, exploded with excitement as Anthony took the stage. From song to song, the crowd hung on every song, every last word Green spoke. Many chants and requests were made for a few Circa Survive songs, and Green rewarded the audience with just a few. He played almost his entire new album, Avalon, which was recently released. At one point during the set, Anthony Green sang a song of romance to his wife, who tours with him selling merchandise. Anthony Green has more stage presence than most of the musicians I have seen in the past. He truly loves music and any fan can tell that from his amazing stage presence. With each song he sang, the audience could feel his enthusiasm and passion. The excitement of the night came as Green broke into his newest single, Dear Child, and the crowd was in uproar with excitement. Overall, the show was a great time for all in attendance. |
